Is money for HAPPINESS or for PLEASURE?

The Dalai Lama views money as a tool that can provide temporary comfort and pleasure, but cannot buy ultimate happiness. Here is how this philosophy directly connects to how we view and use money:

When Money Buys PLEASURE: (1) Chasing status symbols to impress others; (2) Hoarding wealth out of fear or greed; (3) Constantly upgrading lifestyle for short-term thrills.

When Money Supports HAPPINESS: (1) Spending on basic needs to remove survival stress; (2) Sharing wealth generously to help others; (3) Using money to buy back time for family and inner growth.

Sometimes when making a buying decision, I ask myself "Is this choice feeding a pleasure or building lasting peace and happiness?"

It's OK to get it wrong! It's about learning how money connects us to happiness (not pleasure)
